what is the cheapest airline that does this flight (i dont mind if its via somewhere ie. chendgu) - what shoiuldi be expecting to pay - are there any discounts available and how long shouldi book in advance to make sure its cheaper/ get a place. Also does anyone know if bringing a guitar on the airline (whichever one it may be - i have looked and i think possibly China air?) is possible - any extra ccharges - will it be put in the cargo?? thank you

I think Air China is your only option, and that all flights are via Chengdu. Discounts seem rare, but take a look at elong.net. Without discounts it costs over 2400, before fees and taxes. I got a ticket Lhasa to Beijing for 2000 in April, though.

Even if more than one ariline offers flights from Lhasa to Beijing, the prices are all going to be around the same.
