China trip - need a companion

To all of you who are planning a trip to China in June 2007 around June 5 and willing to share a good time traveling the following itenary - please let me know. Gender not a criteria, but having fun and some knowledge of Chinese will make this itenary fun. Anyone know a reasonable way to get a travel permit and train tickets to Lhasa only?

I am a male on a fun learning adventure seeking escapade to China ...
June 4 – leave USA
June 5 – Arrive in Beijing
June 27 – depart from Beijing/China

1. Silk route – Kashgar
2. Shanghai
3. Suzhou
4. Xian
5. Yangtze river cruise (2 nights – 3 days)
6. Chengdu (Panda)
7. Lhasa (Potola Palace)
8. Train from Lhasa – Beijing (Tibet train) First class lower soft berth
9. Great Wall and Beijing (2 nights – 3 days)
Thanks for your help

Well, June is my graduation exam month so I'm pretty sure I won't be travelling around. But you're welcome to PM/email me if you want to meet up in Shanghai for a chat/tea/meal. :)
Cheers!

Hey, from what I can discern, if you fly from Chengdu to Lhasa, the permit is included in the cost of the flight. Not 100% though, sorry. www.travelchinaguide.com might help. Good luck. (Definately see the Dazu Buddhist caves near ChongQing)

Hi, yes, you can take a day trip to Dazu to see the world culture heritage rock cavings, when you arrive in Chongiqng. Then you can take a bus to Wanzhou at 15:00 for about 3 hours to transfer a cruise ship at 20:00 in Wanzhou port for 3 days Yangtze tour, finally arrives in Yichang about 16:00. If you take a cruise ship in Chongqing, it will take 3 nights and 4 days.

Regards!
