China Train Ticket Agency

I'm looking to reserve Shanghai-Beijing and Beijing-Moscow train tickets and am wondering what reputable companies would be suggested which deliver to hotels. I've seen a lot of references to chinatripadvisor.com, but they recently jacked up the Beijing-Moscow tickets by almost $100 so I'd prefer a cheaper alternative.

I might be able to help you out with the Shanghai -- Beijing tickets, but when would you be travelling?
Try Richard Tian (richards@public3.bta.net.cn) for the Beijing -- Moscow tickets.
Cheers!

I don't know what the chinatripadvisor prices are but I do know that prices are reset in May and thus would be expected to be "jacked up" recently.

This information was sent to me by a Chinese travel agent so you can judge whether the new prices are reasonable or not.
May 2007
Beijing to Moscow
K3 departing on Wednesdays 07:40
2142 RMB = 278 USD
3108 RMB = 403 USD
3628 RMB = 470 USD

When contacting Ocean Travel (Richard Tian), you can also try this address: oceantravelcn@yahoo.com.cn. Reportedly Richard and his company are quite reliable about obtaining the tickets at a fair price and delivering them during the day to your hostel or hotel in Beijing. Be sure to add him to your address book so that your spam filter does not "Eat" his response.

Also you can try CITS.net, the Chinese international travel service.
