Wet season in most of Thailand is usually some time in April-May to early-mid November, except for the southern Gulf islands (Samui and neighbours) which is normally Oct into Jan. However, wet season is usually perfectly okay for travel. Lots more info in the first link below.

Toby - you give us zero information about your plans. What's your budget like? What are your intrests while traveling? You need a good guide book as was mentioned above. LP makes a good one. We could list hundreds of things to do while in Thailand and the surrounding countries but we don't have time nor the inclination.
