2 quick questions - and thank you

Hi, just a quick couple of questions as I feel like I have just been hit with a tonne of bricks. We are heading off on 15th June and have just been told by our TA that we will need a visa for Thailand. our plan was to fly DUB-HK via london, stay in HK for 4 days and arrive in BK 20th June. From here we will travel north through Laos, then Vietnam, Cambodia and back to Thailand. However, our flight ticket says our next flight is Singapore-Sydney on the 1st August ie more than 30 days when we arrive in BK.

According to our TA we have to get a visa even though we are likely to be in Thailand 10 days max at the beginning and 15 days max on the second entry. Is this true or is there any way around it?

Secondly, we want to change the date of flight from singapore to at least a month later, is this possible to do 1) before we leave 2) at all?

Thanks for all your help!!

Can't answer the visa question if we don't know what kind of passport (ie. nationality) you have.

Irish, check his profile.

It depends on the airline. Best to contact the airline directly and ask. When in doubt, just get a visa, it's not that hard. >:)

Unless you have physical proof, plane ticket, that you are leaving Thailand within 30 days, you will not be allowed to boards the plane from HK without a 60 day tourist visa. This is an old law, that has started being enforced as of last month. Your TA is right, but, you can get the visa in HK before you go to Thailand so don't worry, just don't forget to have it taken care of in HK.

AS far as changing the ticket, that depends on the airline. I flew China Air, and changed the dates last Feb. with a cost of $150US, but it all depends on the airline, and what kind of ticket you bought.
