Train Hong Kong to Beijing

Hi,

We are arriving in Hong Kong on Tuesday (22nd May) and need to buy a train ticket to Beijing for the Friday (25th May). I have read a few comments about this line being very popular.

Would this be pushing it for tickets on this train to be sold out 3 days in advance? Or would it be better to pre-book on the internet and pay the extra commissions.

i think no internet booking 4 ur train ticket

you can ask help from the travel agent at HK.such as CTS.http://www.ctshk.com/english/index.htm

We took that train last Januari. Bought the ticket at the trainstation and hopped on the next train. Be aware: they only went every other day.

If you run into problems in HK, cross border into shenzhen and right at border is the trainstation. You can get a Shenzhen or Guangzhou to Beijing sleeper ticket there. It is not high season now.

i did this journey in june 2005 and bought the ticket 2 days before. we had a 2 berth sleeper did think maybe 24 hours on a train no way... but the journey was really nice and it didnt feel that long there were 2 toilets in the carriage one was a hole in the floor and the other a western toilet and there was a seperate washroom. would def go by train again.
