new visa/visa extension

I have a 1 month touristvisa for China.
Can I get an extension from this visa
or a new visa (3 month)
in Hongkong before entering China.
And how long would it take.
I have a german passport.
Should be the same like british.
thanks

Hi Wilfried,

Most of the travel agencies will be able to get you tourist visas for the Mainland. The regular processing time is 2-3 days, but you can get it on the same day as well for a higher fee.

British and Europeans are not treated the same. You will have a easier time than they do. You can get an extension inside China after you enter there before HK. If you enter HK first you will not find it so easy to just cancel your first visa and get a new three month one. You might find it easer to cross into Shenzhen for the day to use up your first visa and then apply for the new one in HK. I use Japan travel agency. There are many and almost all the same. I brought my passport into JT in am and had the three month visa same day in afternoon as a regular visa service.
I have done this many times. I once had two weeks left on my visa before it expired and the agency said I had to wait until just before it expired. I had them write a letter to the issuing office telling whem some excuse why I need to cancel my first visa the get a new one. Anyway just be prepared.
