Nok Air - Usually on time?

I will be spending about 5 days in Thailand with my wife and daughter. We plan to visit Phuket for a couple of days and then go to Honk Kong via Bangkok. Nok Air seems to fit the budget and the schedule. Flight DD7503 departs Phuket at 10.45 am and gets to Bangkok (Donmueang) at 12.00 noon. We have a flight to catch 3.30 pm from Bangkok to Hong Kong. So I would appreciate help on:

1. Is Nok Air usually fly on time?
2. Is it possible to land at Bangkok (Donmueang) at 12 noon and make it to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch a 3.30 pm flight
3. What is the reporting time for International flights at Suvarnabhumi ( I know it is 3 hours usually but how fine can I cut it)

Thanks

Should be okay, early flights usually close to on time. 45 minutes airport to airport.

Have a great trip!

I would say that you will be fine. However, you could be cutting it close if something goes wrong with your luggage or you have flight delays. When I have flown Nok Air, they were always on time. 3 hours is the standard, but I have checked in within 1 hour of an international flight because my other flight was delayed .... let us hope this does not happen to you ... it made me quite nervous. In the end all was fine. That was in the US on the way to Thailand. I had to transfer from Laguardia to JFK in New York, and they lost my luggage. Thankfully, my luggage caught up with me a week later on Koh Samui. Amazing!

i am quite tentative to say no worries because delays, waiting for the luggage checked in, and traffics can be unpredictable in bangkok.

Don't understand why people want to fly on a budget airline, saving money, and then expect all the comforts and convenience of a full-service airline. I've flown with AirAsia, Nok and Tiger, saved a bunch of money and didn't worry too much about timing...

I think you need to ask yourself some questions:
What will happen if you miss your connection to Hong Kong?
Is there another flight later in the day?
How much will the airline charge to rebook you on another flight?
What will you do if some or all your bags are misrouted, delayed or lost?
AND keep in mind that even if Nok Air is right on time and your bags all arrive with you and you get on the shuttle smoothly, you still have Bangkok traffic to deal with!
So, if you thrive on stress go for it!

EXCELLENT!

Personally I wouldn't fancy that kind of stress while on holiday.

Nok Air, Air Asia and other budget airlines stress the fact that they are "point to point" airlines and therefore cannot be held responsible for travellers missing onward connections etc. Roughly translated, they don't give a f*ck if they are late, and will sometimes cancel flights or modify schedules at short notice.

You get what you pay for.

Nok don't route no bags so that's one worry less. If you're carrying so much shit that you actually have to check said shit in then just pick it up in Bangkok, walk to the other side of the terminal to international check ins and check in there.

I'd do it, 3 hours is plenty of time and no way do you need to check in more than 1-1.5 hours before departure; you'll be fine.

But do check what happens if you miss the Honkers flight. :)

Also you have to account if it's the rainy season or not.

I've been caught in some of those afternoon downpoars when nothing moves for an hour.

Thanks everyone. I think I will take the stress and do it but maybe on Air Asia as it lands directly at Suvaranabhumi and will at least save me time and avoid the traffic.

I fly budget all the time. Dont expect any comforts or conveniences just ontime performance as some budget airlines are notorious for not sticking to schedules or cancelling if headcount is low.
