China Hotels

Hello
Planning to visit Beijing and then ShangHai-4 nights in each-is it best to book hotels here in UK either on Web ?
I've used Asia Rooms before and they seemed a good deal-I'm looking at 4 star hotels with good facilties!
Cheers

According to my experience its best to book online: elong.net . Its the Chinese expedia and I used it all the time when I was there. I found it pretty good especially for middle and upper class hotels.

Good luck over there...

i just returned from China.Booked everything on Expedia.com.In Shanghai I would recommend staying at Celebrity Apartment Hotel.50$ for 2 bedroom suite.Amazing new hotel.Taxi rates are very cheap in China.so travel by taxi.In Beijing we stayed at Holiday Inn Shangdi.Shangdi is in suburbs and has a subway line next to the hotel. It was cheaper compared to downtown hotels.may be 50-70 $ for one night. One tip-Purchase water in bulk from Dept store to save money. In Beijing there is a walmart where u can get water at 0.90 yuan otherwise you spend 3-4 yuan at tourist places.

I would recommend Kapok Hotel in Beijing; and Salvo Hotel, Donghu Hotel or City Hotel in Shanghai. Not sure about what your budget requirements are.
Cheers!
