i just returned from China.Booked everything on Expedia.com.In Shanghai I would recommend staying at Celebrity Apartment Hotel.50$ for 2 bedroom suite.Amazing new hotel.Taxi rates are very cheap in China.so travel by taxi.In Beijing we stayed at Holiday Inn Shangdi.Shangdi is in suburbs and has a subway line next to the hotel. It was cheaper compared to downtown hotels.may be 50-70 $ for one night. One tip-Purchase water in bulk from Dept store to save money. In Beijing there is a walmart where u can get water at 0.90 yuan otherwise you spend 3-4 yuan at tourist places.Posted By: VenessaP -- 28-Jan-2010 15:01
