Protest at Everest Base Camp

Hello Everyone,

I have just been told by a friend who is traveling through Xi'an and headed to Lhasa on May 11th, 2007, that according to reports of backpackers coming out of Tibet, there is a protest at the Everest Base Camp and that therefore all travel outside of Lhasa has been restricted.
Does anyone have any information or know where to find some regarding this?

It is much appreciated,

Noah

Is this a new protest or the one that happened a few weeks ago? Sheesh, I really hope not. This is terrible news!

Hi there

You can see what happened if you are able to see YouTube on your computer.

Just search Google with tibet everest protest and you will find a lot of information
I suppose there have no new demonstrations.

Have a nice trip

This protest happened nearly 2 weeks ago and is old news now. Read through this article for more information on traveling outside of Lhasa.
