Traveling around Tibet

Hi,

I am planning to go to Tibet this August and would very much like to go to the Everest Base Camp while I am there. Does anyone first know how easy it will be to get my permit/visa sorted out in Beijing as I plan to be there before I go on this Beijing-Lhasa train? How long does this visa/permit take to get as well?

Also, in Lhasa how do I go to Everest Base Camp? Do I have to join a tour or are there other ways and how long does this take?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions but any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Kevin

Once you get to Lhasa, go to the FIT at Banok Shol and they'll help you sort out your trip to EBC.

PS Wang Chuk is the man to see there.
