Connecting flight at Kunming Airport

We are flying from Laos to China and the flight i am planning to book is scheduled to arrive Kunming at 5.20pm. We want to get to Lijiang the same day and there is a flight to Lijiang at 6.50pm. If both flights are China Eastern, is that connection time ok? Or is it to tight? I'm just not sure about the reliability of 'international' flights leaving Laos? nor do know how time consuming it will be collecting tickets booked on elong? (I haven't booked anything on elong yet). Thanks in advance for any advice.

Although i can't answer all of your questions, i can say that the six or so dealings i've had with kunming airport have all been pretty swift, so if you are as lucky as me, there shouldn't be a hold up on that front.

I would say that Kunming is certainly far from a bad place to be if you need to waste a bit of time, so don't be too concerned if you have to stay there until the next available flight.

Hi
I have the same problem with a flight from Malaysia, if everthing goes ok i should make it to connecting flight from Guangzhou i'm booking with elong i think it might be better to get a later flight just to be on the safe side you only need a short delay and you miss your check in time.

You need to worry about the flight leaving late from Laos. They're notorious for delayed flights. Chinese flights are often late leaving too. Kunming airport isn't too big, but you will have to collect your bags and go thru immigration which will take more time.

Ruth, as usual, is correct. If your incoming from Laos is on time, you will have no problem with that much connecting time in Kunming.

If both flights are China Eastern, you should not worry about your luggage, it should be fine then.
