It is now 44 baht/1 Euro and 33 baht for 1 Dollar (roughly same as the current 1.35 Euro/Dollar) so no real reason to bring dollars vs. Euro. Both are easy to exchange in Thailand at these approximate rates. There are many ATMs in Thailand (at the airport too) so an internationally accepted ATM card is usually the best way to get money (check your bank for charges on overseas transactions). There is not much need for travellers checks, but if you bring them I'd say American Express is the most acceptable type, but in Euros or Dollars it doesn't really matter. Also bring a Visa or Mastercard as a backup.2
Bring your euros; they're easy to change. You don't need to pay twice for changing your money. Thai ATM machines almost all have Cirrus, Plus and Maestro (see what logos are on your ATM card). I don't bother anymore with traveler's cheques, but if you bring them, euros are fine, Amex or Thomas Cook.3
