Solo @ the FMP - WARNING, silly question to follow!

Hi all - I will heading to Thailand in the next couple of months and hope to go to the Koh Pha Ngan FMP. I will be travelling alone and obviously don't feel comfortable with the idea of heading down to the madness alone - if I get to KPN a few days earlier, is it easy enough to hook up with other travellers? I have had no problems meeting other travellers in other places, but just wasn't sure if this was the kind of thing solo (esp female) travellers tended to avoid.

Any thoughts?

Plenty of lone travellers (male and female) head to the FMP. Shouldn't be a problem meeting up with them on KPN in the days leading up to the party. Personally I think the boat (esp night boat) heading to the island is a great place to meet other single travellers too.

Doesn't sound like Kananga will be one of them though .... ;-)

Long after you have gotten over the urge to mob-up with thousands of brain-dead beach cattle and well before the onset of hot chocolate early nights, there is this thing called "middle age". It aint so bad ;-)

Bob, I look forward to it! LOL, I'm still in the "brain-dead beach cattle" category myself, or at least I am as far as the FMP goes ;-)

Kananga just gets annoyed as he is employed as a litter picker with fmps creating much work for idle hands.

Hi Little miss:

I've just been coming from FMP. Like before this time also i was by myself. As #2 mentioned, its a fun place and u'll find umpteenth no. of solo travellers from both sexes eager to make new friends. i have moved around with israelis, argentine, swedish, german... so not a problem and just dont get anxious bout it. KPG is the place to go alone.

Agree mate ! But OP, have in mind, if you are a caucasian girl looking for a sort of "BF", you have to face hard concurence of half-naked (freelance) thai girls and very sexually agressive LB's... = )
