Mt.Kailash from Kathmandu

Is it possible to go to Mt.Kailash from Kathmandu without going to Lhasa first?
Thank you, Gabi

Yes it should be possible, just check with agencies from Kathmandu (if you do a search on this forum you might come up with some names, if not just Google it and you'll get loads). A lot of them actually fly you to Lhasa first and start the trip from there, but if you want to skip Lhasa completely you should be able to find tours KTM - Mt Kailash - KTM as well.

Agencies in Kathmandu tend to be a fair bit more expensive than in Lhasa though.

You can get Kathmandu-Kailash-Kathmandu 15 day Land Cruiser packages for about $1,500 per pax (without Lhasa). Travel agents in Kathmandu organise this.
