Best islands for sun in May?

Hello,

Which islands should I be heading to for some sun in May? - only have 3 weeks in Thailand and want to avoid the rain if I possibly can! Also want somewhere which is a good place to meet other lone travellers.

Thanks,
Angie

Ko Samet (Ao Pai)
Ko Chang (Lonely Beach)
Ko Pha Ngan (Hat Rin, Tong Nai Pan)

To the above I would add : Ko Tao (Sairee Beach), which has a nice mix of bars/restaurants in which to meet travellers, but it's not too full-on like Hat Rin on Ko Pha Ngan.

I think you will get enough sun in just about any beach location. Go to weatherfish sublink in the link below to find location with least rainy days etc in May if you want to pin it down to one or two locations, remembering these are averages only.

Bob and dom's places to meet lone travellers are good ones - there are heaps more - Ton Sai and Long Beach on PP, Railay and Ton Sai near Krabi, Long Beach on Lanta, Chalok Lam on Tao, Mai Hat on Phangan.................................
I have info on most of these in the link below.

Thanks people.

I may check out Ko Samet and Ko Tao this time round as have been to Phi Phi, Krabi and Ko Pha Ngan and the weather was good but that was November time.

Happy travels!
