A quick question

Hi all, I have a quick question relating to Thailand. It's probably something most of you know the answer to, and it may even have been asked on here about 6 years ago. Oh, wait a second, that means if I ask it I'm gonna get 10 sarcastic know-it-alls giving me a hard time for asking, telling me to do a search, or just generally being unhelpful.

Signed,

People who would like to use the Thailand forum but get put off after a couple of posts (there are a lot of us).

So exactly who pissed in your coffee? Hold on, I'll do a search.

Hope you're not a hemophiliac with that thin skin.

Dear mark_hardy_1608,

Don't be such a damn baby. That's not sarcasm, by the way, it's a suggestion. Seriously. Stop being a crybaby. Ask your questions. Get your answers--good and bad, then leave if you don't care to stay. It's quite simple.

telling me to do a search

'cause sometimes you get a bit PO at people who could find the answer on our friend google, but expect someone to answer the same question that was asked 10 times in the last week.

I think Mark is right I see alot of people here waiting for someone to post something and not answer the question and try to dig any hole they can find in the posters questions and give abuse instead of giving an answer or put something helpful info into the thread.

I would not let it bother you Mark I think its better when their are idiots on here too with nothing better to do, but their are many good people here to that will try and be helpful if they can.

What's wrong with being advised to "do a search"? Why should we waste time answering the same question again, that we KNOW has been asked three times in the last week?

Why do so-called English speakers have such a difficult time with a simple word like "there". kernal manages to bugger it up in two different ways in one sentence.

they're - short for "they are"
their - indicates possive, as in "their English skills suck"
there - used to introduce a sentence or clause in which the verb comes before its subject or has no complement, as in "there is no hope"

Please don't tell me you are teaching English in Thailand.

My hunch is that if you hung around on this board long enough - probably not very long at all would be long enough - you'd see this from a different angle, OP, and start empathising with the regulars.

Having said that, I've had some really helpful people from this board very generously pm me with lots of info.

JJack- I just looove the improper usage of the language on these forums- as a 'so-called English speaker', it keeps me entertained more than the bitter ripostes!
Very few seem to be able to spell 'itinerary', 'border', 'you're' (your) and commonly say things like "a airplane". My spelling sucks on occasion I admit, but I don't have spellcheck so there! :-P
