For late arrivals in Krabi I usually recommend staying in Ao Nang, which is easy to reach by road from Krabi town or the airport. Next morning you can then grab a very quick 30-baht longtail boat to Railay Beach. In Ao Nang try "J Mansion" which is back from the beach up the main road and has clean aircon rooms and a rooftop overlooking the sea. Nice place to get started.2
There is a sublink to Chanchalay guest house in Krabi town in my Krabi info thingy in the link below - nice place, pretty central, their new aircon rooms up the back are within yer budget. Krabi town is an okay place to spend the first night - hop on a longtail or white songthaew (which goes up the hill past Chanchalay) for the beaches in the morning.
