Koh Chang

hi folks.
the last times i visited thailand, i made my relaxing time at some quiet beaches like Ao Woktum at Kho Phangan.
To be honest i hate the mainstream hadrin and KSR as well.
Now me was told that koh chang at lonely beach should be a very nice spot.
What do you think, Do will i like it with my KSR F*ck you attitude?
As an alternative i am thinking about shinoukville in cambodia, how is that?

KSR is the loniest place in thailand, go for it bitches!

nah lonely beach was getting sort of populated two years ago when i was there last, can imagine it is worse now... from what i hear sihanoukville is crappy too. i would recommend somewhere like than sadet or mae haad on koh phangan, or one of the small islands like koh phayam or koh chang (rayong).

I just left little ko chang a few days ago, most places were wrapping up for the season, in a few weeks time the taxi boat will stop calling at the main beaches because of dodgy sea.

somebody know if the sea is gonna be dodgy at the east coast as well? for example to phangan? Not that i am seasick or something, but the imagination sleeping peacefully at the nightboat and getting waked up by a hard storm isnt that funny :D

Lonely Beach stopped being lonely - too many "alternative" people walking around with Lonely Planet trying to be lonely.
Long Beach is the new "Lonely" (or yeah Lonely Beach in rainy season maybe)
Spent a fair while on Ko Chang in May 2 years ago and all the staff at bungalows/restaurants were in peak-lazy mode, knowing the places would shut down soon and they could all head back to Isaan with their somtam and newly-acquired giks. Just couldn't be bothered with me. Gets really quiet after May.

Things have started to quieten down this week on koh chang. Will pretty well stay like this now throughout the low season. The ocean is still excellent, have been getting a fair amount of rain over the last week or so. Although you can bargain the prices really dont drop until the end of april. Rode to lonely beach yesterday definetly has quietened down. Yeh everything is ok here.

some people walk in the rain others just get wet
