Baht vs. American dollars

Here's a basic question.
I know that US dollars are used widely in Cambodia and Laos for larger purchases, or for anything that is priced in US dollars, but what about Thailand? Should I be using baht in Thailand like I would use pounds in England, or Candian dollars in Canada, or should I use a mix of the local curreny and US? thanks

Thai Baht is a hard currency, while Kip and Riel is just funny munny worthless outside their borders. When in Thai, use Baht.

Thai baht is the currency you use but in some cases if you don't have the baht handy then use the dollar but thats only at proper tourists shops.

the thai baht is strong against the dollar right now (what isn't) so actually in cambodia right now some people prefer Thai baht as it exchanges still at the street rate of 40 baht per dollar when accepting it for purchases in cambodia.
