1.5 days in Xi'an

Hi folks,
I'll be flying in from Beijing in the morning, reaching Xi'an around 1pm and will be leaving Xi'an the next day in the evening at 6pm. I thought of going from the airport straight to the terracotta warriors and then to Xi'an and spending the night there. The next day see the city (muslim quarter, pagodas) and then back to the airport. Does this sound ok or should I re-arrange the schedule?
Thanks

I think it depends on how much luggage you have. If you have a little backpack, then it's doable.

!! Be warned that "students" who want to practice English with you may actually be scammers. In Shanghai they try the Tea Ceremony Scam. In Beijing it's the Art Student Scam. Be very wary if a stranger wants to speak English with you, especially if you are in a tourist area. !!

Are you flying to Xi'an?

It takes an hour from the airport to the centre, and then another 20-30 minutes to the warriors. You might get there by 3pm which will give you time.

The following day perhaps ok, but might be quite rushed. Maybe see the muslim quarter also at night on the first day.

Agree with the above and I'd try to get in a look at the Provincial Museum and up on the city walls before the pagodas. Also get out into the side alleys for breakfast as they have some nice foods that aren't usually found in other major cities. Try the soup that is very dark in color and I believe was a beef base, but could have been yang rou.

Sounds doable, given that the trip between the city and the airport isn't too long.

Thanks. Are there buses or taxis directly from the airport to the warriors? Might save a little time although the city isn't that far off anyway from the way to the airport to the warriors

It takes 45 minutes to an hour to go from the airport to the city. I did it today.

I'm not sure what #5 means. The airport is in the west and the Warriors in the east.

There are no busses to the Warriors. A taxi driver will be pleased to take you, I'm sure. I would guess that he would charge 200 yuan to take you there. Then you'll have to find a way back, bus or taxi. I doubt that an airport taxi would want to wait while you look at the Warriors for two hours.

I would suggest the muslim quarter at night.
