Golmud - Lhasa by train

Has anyone taken the train from Golmud to Lhasa recently? I know that Golmud overcharges for the permit, but I am interested how easy one can get the tickets for the train from Golmud. It is a (long) day train, so I am hoping it is fairly easy to get a seat, if not a sleeper.

It will be difficult to get a sleeper, but shouldn't be too hard to get a seat. Sleepers to Lhasa are difficult to get from anywhere.
