Other than the LP phrase books there ae several teach youself language kits which include a book and CD/cassette. This includes "Teach yourself Indonesian" and" ROutledge Colloquial Indonesian". They have chapters sorted by topics such as Greetings, directions and eating out, each chapter has a dialogue with vocabulary and grammar and exercises to practice them.ra'ik kau raintang sara tei kau ngasiang

For a thorough introduction, with good vocab, proper grammar and all, I find this book the best.

I agree with Laszlo, that the Yohanni Johns book is the best. I would suggest that you also obtain the cassette tapes that go with this book.Posted By: VenessaP -- 28-Jan-2010 15:01
