Shanghai - Guilin flights availability

Hi Travelfolks,
Thank you very much for your help.

I am trying to book a domestic flight from Shanghai Pudong to Guilin on march 31st / april 1st for 2 people. Hong Qiao aiport could go as well. Still waiting for my mum's passport, though. And here are my questions:

1) In your experience, should I wait until I am in Shaghai to book my domestic flight to Guilin? Will those flights on march 31st (sat) & april 1st (sun) be booked if I wait until the last moment?

2) I am having trobles booking on line (not just for the passport). I tried to use elong and ctrip, but they were asking me to choose the "ticket delivery city"... Why do they want me to specify this, since it is a electronic ticket? I will be landing in Shanghai PVG around 2pm and, hopefully, transfer directly to Guilin... What do they need to deliver?

3) The flight I am looking is a china eastern of 1820 yuan per person: do you think it's a good price?

4) In your experience, which one is better, elong or ctrip?

5) Have you ever used www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights? If yes, what do you think about it?

Thank you so much. I appreciate it.

The more I travel, the more places I want to travel to.

1) It's always better to book ahead to be sure, especially if you want a certain flight. That said, the CNY rush is over, and you might get a ticket at the airport.

2) The tranfer to the use of electronic tickets is not complete yet, so receipts for electronic tickets are still being issued as proof of booking.

3) Sounds expensive.

4) IMO they're about the same. Used both many times, never had a problem with either.

Is that for a round trip ticket? Full price should be about 1300 plus tax I think, each way that is. So if it is round trip its not bad and including tax then not bad - otherwise too much.

I'll volunteer to help with your tickets if you're stuck.
Is that price for round-trip or one-way? 1 person or 2?
Cheers!

thanks a lot.
yes, they were charging 1300 for one way just for one person, and the taxes were pushing the whole thing to 1820!

1820 RMB total for a ticket which costs 1300 RMB to start with? You're getting royally ripped off.
Cheers!

perhaps. Guilin is a very expensive airport.

A return to Bangkok was the same as a one-way to Beijing.

For the first time in months expedia.com listed a few flights from shanghai to guilin and I was able to book my flight through them. I don't understand why they are just now showing these flights... well, i guess I was able to take advantage of that. The price seems pretty much what I would spend with elong, etc., with the surcharge of being mailed to US ($19.99 per person).

How weird they did not show anything before... I have been keeping an eye on these travel consolidators for months, and none of them, except those mentioned above, was listing anything reasonable. Just to get an idea, cheaptickets, orbitz, travelocity, etc. still don't have anything.

thank you very much for your help, anyway. You have been vey nice.
