Visa Extensions around Yunnan on Double entry Visa

I have a british passport, and I got a double entry visa (30days each entry) for China.
However plans change, and i want to go to Llasa from Yunnan spend some time there, then down to Nepal. After trekking in Nepal I'll then return to Llasa and continue my journey thru china for another month.
I'm going to run out of time on my first 30days doing this though.

Does anyone know....
Can I get a visa extention on this type of visa on the first entry without affecting the second entry?
can I get an extention in Zhongdian before leaving for Llasa?
if an extention on the first entry somehow messes up the second entry, could i get a completely new 30day visa in Nepal without any hassle?

Any advice most appreciated.
Thanks

any extension is considered to be another visa and will cancel your current visa.

however, on the extension, you may be able to get one, 2, or multiple entries. usually you need a paper from a hotel for this.

You have a bigger problem- to enter Tibet from Nepal you need a special group visa; your second entry will be useless. To use it you will have to enter China from another crossing.

re post number 2, oh. that i didn't know. well i guess that makes up my mind for me! thanks. i guess i just keep going in china then till the end of my visa, then make a run for HK and take the train eventually from beijing. that might be the better option.

thanks to both of you!
