Chengdu, Chengdu, what to do?
I have two friends from South Africa planning to travel in Chengdu during April. As I have been living in China for the past 2 years, they jumped on me for advise and suggestions and so on. However, I have never had the chance to visit Chengdu (yes, I know), and this is one of their major headaches on the trip as they would be doing this part without a organized tour group. They have sent me a vast array of questions to which I unfortunately do not have the answers. Please if anyone can help with any of these questions, I would be very much obliged :
1. We (myself and 2 friends) can only find one flight from Lijiang to Chengdu on the 21st at 22:00. Is there not an earlier flight and what is the cost.
2. Accomodation in Chengdu for the 21st and 22nd and 25th - we do not want to spend alot of money on a fancy hotel
3. The we have want to go to Juizhaigou for the 23rd to the 25th. We can either book our flights there ourselves and accomodation (do it on our own) or do a tour. We would like to find out the prices of both options in order to decide.
4. Do it on our own. I struggle to find flights flom Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou - the only one we can find out about is again Air China. Seems expensive. Apparently there is a whole bunch of airlines that fly there:
Air China,
Sichuan Airline,
Southern Airline and
Eastern Airline
We want to fly early in the morning so that we can spend the day in the park.
Please could you find me some prices and times. Maybe they give discount for 3 people?
5. We want to fly back late the afternoon of the 25th or early evening.
6. CAn you also please get me some prices on tours there for the times above. I have found out about one tour - they fly in and out. But the day they fly it is a bit later and therefore they do not allow the tourists time in the park. So it is a waste of a day.
7. The tours include the tickets for the parks? Apperantly it is quite expensive - but a ticket for one day or two days in Jiuzhaigou is the same? Is that true?
8. I have read that one may be able to sleep in the tibettan village in the park. Apparently not allowed but very possible. What is the chanses of doing that and around what is the cost?
TextAs you can see they are trying to be rather clinical about this, which I do not understand. But please again if you can offer any help, I would appreciate it greatly.
Thanks
