My guestimate is that Beijing is probably 1.5 - 2 times more expensive.

agree with 2, was in CN last yr, very used to stay in thaild./BKK and price level of China was a bitter disappointment/pricewise,certainly the large cities. but as BKk is so cheap for wesetrners,this makes BJ not that expensive (yet)so you believe anything - on the news? on TV? in your guidebook? on this forum? good luck then - you'll need it!

I'd agree with the above. However while maybe not cheaper, taxis in BJ are a lot better than BKK.

yes ,beijing is expensive than BBK ,but no too much ! and you'd better come to beijing in April ,it a little cool.but it is a good time for travelling!

I live in one city and am frequently in and out of the other, and Beijing is absolutely more expensive than Bangkok for just about everything, whether you are living there or just visiting. About 1.5-2 times as expensive (or more) for equivalent items is on the mark.
