Is it true that there are still restaurants in China where you can eat live monkey brains ? So yes, where ? Thanks.

You can eat anything in China just be prepared to pay top dollars.

The answer is no. Once they remove the monkey's brain, the monkey is dead. However, you can eat monkey paws while the monkey looks on in pain and throws feces at you with its remaining hand

Yes, if you enjoy inflicting suffering, you can really enjoy yourself in China, pukkie. You'd better hope there is no afterlife though.

The only time I've ever heard of live monkey brains being eaten in China was in a hilarious Leslie Cheung movie (I think it was called "The Chinese Feast") where they poured boiling oil onto the live monkey's brain. Though I guess that killed the monkey so actually it was dead monkey brain.

I haven't traveled much in China, but I have heard from reliable sources that the eating of live monkey brains really happens. And I have been told by other, equally reliable sources that it's just an urban myth.

I believe that settles it.
