Buying Train Tickets For Mainland China in Hong Kong

Is it possible to buy a train ticket (specifically, a ticket from Guilin to Hanoi) in Hong Kong? Or do I have to buy it in Guilin since it is the point of departure? If I can buy it in Hong Kong, can I buy the ticket directly (at the train station) or would I need to buy it through a travel agency? If through a travel agency, any recommendations?

As far as I know you have to buy them at point of departure.

You may try China Services (HK) Ltd (http://www.ctshk.com) and see whether they can help.

China Rail has a sales shop at the Hunghom train terminal (n.b. not the CTS sales office). I'm pretty sure I saw a poster for Guangzhou to Lhasa train ticket being booked and issued there. I don't know whether the shop can do your Guilin to Hanoi ticket. But it certainly worth a try.
