China - visa expiration date?

I have to enter China by March 28 for my 2nd entry on a double entry visa. I want to spend some time in Nepal first, though... what are my chances of getting the date pushed back? (Not a visa extention - no added time - just moving the 'valid until' date.)

Has anyone had experience with the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu? Are they helpful and accomodating, and likely to do this for me?

there was a similar post on this last week. i think the consensus is that you need to get a new visa. they don't extend the valid dates on visas.

Generally speaking visa dates cannot be changed. You may have to get a new visa. OTOH there is nothing lost by asking except some time. And if they say no, you can just get a new visa.

Since I have taken the time to answer your question, it would be nice if you took the time to respond as to whether the information was helpful.

I figured as much - i'd just like to save cash if it's at all possible. Thanks again
