Denmark (Fünen Island) in July

Well, after extensive travelling in Asia etc. I bought a dog and have to spend summer in Europe. Will be going to the island Fünen; rented a house near Otterup for my 3 kids (13/10/9) and Berner Sennenhund "Bali" (3 months). Have never been to Denmark and am afraid that it will be boring... Has anybody been on Fünen? What can I do there? We will be there from 23rd June to 14th July - anybody nice around for a barbecue-party? ;-)

Show the kids their world!

Hi - Denmark has an excellent fast and efficient train system so you could always do day trips. In Roskilde (on Zealand) there is a fantastic Viking Ship Museum which has hands-on activities for children ( Our 8yr old girls loved it). In Odense there is the Hans Christian Anderson House and right next door is a kids activity centre (can't remember the name) but this is also hands-on and has lots of fun activities for children. There is also the original Legoland near Ribe I think, on the peninsula.
Hope that's a start.
Regards
Steph

Spent a week on Bornholm Denmark last August and really enjoyed it.
Bring your raingear...we were all dressed for the weather on the beach but still enjoyed making sandcastles etc. The pastries OMG gorgeous.....
Just relax and hang out ....we have really enjoyed Denmark pre and post kids
