SafariI've already posted about ideas where to go in South Africa but it was suggested that I set up a different thread when asking about safaris.
Me and a friend from uni (two girls) are heading to South Africa this summer (not yet sure which month - june/aug) and really want to go on a safari, but we're on a serious budget so cant afford anything too swanky. So anyone know any decent cheapish safari parks/companies? Neither of us are allowed to rent a car because we're too young but is it relatively easy to join onto a group? Are any parks less popular than others (eg ruaha compared to serengetti in tanzania)
thanks for any info :)

2I travelled years ago with Viva safaris. Stayed in tree houses and did game drives into Kruger. Highly recommended. http://www.vivasafaris.com/backpackersafari.html
Driving yourself is much cheaper though. Would recommend trying to hook up with some other travellers and share costs.

3Hi Asher, I was wondering how many days you were on safari with them and whether you saw any animals within their reserve? I could probably only afford (in terms of time and money) to do the 3 day/2 night safari, which only spends one day in Kruger. The rest of the time you are viewing game w/in the reserve. I don't know the likelihood of seeing animals in S. Africa, but do you think one day in Kruger will allow me to see something (anything)?
