Beijing to Jiuzhaigou

Looking for advice. planning to travel to beijing in early april for 5 days. then from beijing to jiuzhaigou for another 5 days. is this a good time to visit this 2 places? is there any flight from BJ to JZG? is this a good plan in terms of cost, or should i stay around the north region near BJ for the later 5 days?

heard about sand storms in the north. is the possiblity higher in april?

thanks.

Jiuzhaigou is always worth visiting, but the most popular season is mid to late October, for the fall colours.
I'm not sure if there're direct flights from Beijing to Jiuzhaigou in April. You might need to change at Chengdu.
Cheers!

There're no direct flights from beijing to Jiuzhaigou. U have to change at Chengdu which is a worth visiting city. Chengdu was a very important city during Chinese history, its building style was of Han dynasty 2000 years ago, comparing with Beijing's Qing dynasty style.
Yes, there were sand storms in Beining during the past 2 years, so in april , traveing to beijng maby not a nice idea.

Either that, or fly from Xi'an. You could take the overnight Z train from Beijing to Xi'an, visit the Terracotta Warriors and then fly out to Jiuzhaigou on the latest flight possible that day. I've personally done it before so I know it's definitely possible.
Cheers!
