Accomodation and Taxi transportationHi,
I planning to go on 20 feb to Prague for 3 days.
Has anyone heard of the Apollo Hotel ? , is it a good place to stay and near to see the sights in the city?
And to go from the airport to the hotel, is expensive take a taxi at the airport?
Thanks a lot,

1I haven't heard of that hotel, but if it's in Old Town, New Town, Mala Strana, Hradcany, or Josefov, you'll be in a good location to see the sights. As for transport from the airport, this site has detailed info on taxi transport and bus/metro transport.

2We have stayed at The Castle Steps twice now. The location is ideal (unless you want to go to discos). We were very close to Prague Castle and just up the road from Charles Bridge.
We didn't bother about risking a taxi from the airport. Take bus 119 to the metro and you're almost there. The metro is the last bus stop so you can't go wrong - just follow the crowd down to the platform. It's two stops to Malastranska, or more if you are going on to the other side of the river.
Taxis aren't that expensive as such, but you can very easily get ripped off.

3the hotel is NOT in the city centre, you will definitely need to take metro (4 stops to Muzeum). it would be much better to look for central accomodation, look at accomm-prague.cz, they have cheap deals, because if you use public transport, count with another 3EUR/day per day ticket.
I would prefer to go by bus 119, which is cheap, fast and comfortable. it arrives at DEJVICKA metro stop and from there you can reach city centre in 5 minutes (the 119 bus goes 20 minutes)
