Cycling around Europe

Hi all,

I'm planning a cycle trip around Europe this summer. Can anyone recommend any good websites that can help me prepare myself and my bike (stories of other long distance cyclists).

Also looking for cycle trails in Southern France, Northern Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and Germany.

Thanks!

Our favourite section of our ride across Europe was the Via Appia (Appian Way in Biblical terms).

The road follows the original route of the Roman road from Rome to Brindisi (we did it in the other direction) & it is a beatiful ride passing through numerous Roman era towns perched on top of defensive hilltops with impressive castles.

The local Gelatis, cappachinos & panni (bread) where a real treat.

We also enjoyed cycling the bike path along the Rhine pretty much from near the river's conception near Splugen in Switzerland until Strassbourg in France.

Good luck,

Stacky

Hi there, you might find some info on our blog. Feel free to get in touch (best via the site, not LP as we are not often on here) if you have specific questions; I second the crazyguyonabike recommendation and maybe sign up to the Phred mailing list. Also, if you speak French, look up the "Vers la Mer" project through France.
