Electricity Lhasa - Kathmandu?

Hi everyone,

A very small but important question - on the standard 4WD tours from Lhasa - Kathmandu (via Everest BC) do the guesthouses along the way have electricity? My only concern is charging my camera battery!!

Also - on one of these tours where does the jeep and the driver go in the evenings? (silly question I know)

In Lhasa and Shigatse every guesthouse will have electricity 24 hours a day. Most places in Gyantse have 24 hour power as well, but some small guesthouses will only have it at night. Places like Shegar, Tingri or the small guesthouses heading to base camp will only have power in the evenings.

Hi there!!!

well you will have electricity in all the places on the tour.
All right as for the driver and the jeep they will be in the guest house/hotel that you stay in.

To add on to richard's question:

Would the price of accomodation be factored into the price when we book the 4WD, or is that payable separately?

If you actually look like your passport photo, you aren't well enough to travel

Oops, forgot to add:

If accomodation costs are payable separately, how much can we expect to pay?

I'm planning to be do Lhasa-EBC-Lhasa this summer, so i'm planning my budget.

Thanks!

Regards,
Felicia

Prices do not include accomodations.

Guesthouses in Lhasa cost between Y20 and Y40 per night.

Along the way to base camp guesthouses are between Y15 and Y35 per person.

Hi there,
I have just returned from Tibet, and batteries, charging etc was a concern before going over....but no problems when I was there. Everywhere we stayed had power, although in Shegar the hotel only ran it's generator in the evening :)
We paid 4500Y for a 5 day EBC trip, and accommodation was around 100-150Y for double rooms.
