Hotel Dhood Gu in Lhasa

Dear friends,

I found on some sites info and pictures about hotel Dhood Gu in Lhasa. However, I could not find any information regarding price and how can I contact them to book.

Please, could you let me know how much it costs and if you have any contact info.

Thank you,

I stayed there for a night back in 2004. It was quite expensive then, about 300Y for a single with bath (I can't recall the exact price). Anyway, it was nice, and in a nice location, but way to expensive. I'm sure it is probably even more expensive now. I do not have any contact info.

You would be much better off going to one of the more popular places around the Barkhor, such as the Yak, Banak Shol, Kirey, Flora, etc. Prices are much cheaper. Last October, I spent some time at the Kirey. A deluxe room with attached bath was 120Y, including free laundry service.

Wherever you go, you can probably get some discounts during in the off season.

Yaks, Yaks, Yaks. Need I say more?

I have a lot of information on the Dhood Gu at my home in Tibet, but I am in Thailand now. It is a nice hotel in a great location, but as stated above it is a bit expensive. I am not sure on the price, but I think I remember it being around Y400 or so. I could be wrong though. If you have the money, it is a great place to stay.

If you really have the money, the House of Shambhala is a great hotel. It is located in a quite corner of the Barkhor. It is one of my favorite hotels in Lhasa.

If you are more on a budget, the Flora Hotel is a great value for your money. It is located in the Muslim district of Lhasa (yes, there are many Muslims throughout Tibet) on the far side of the Barkhor.
