Buying tickets for Machu PicchuHi all,
I managed to use the website to reserve my tickets and now I'm trying to pay for the ticket. However, the website isn't letting me do it.
I was thinking that since I have already made the reservation, I can pay for the tickets when I get to Peru. Does anybody know how many days before the trip the payment has to be made? I would imagine after a point the reservation will be cancelled.

2I also managed to finally get the website working and decided that it was best to make the payment as soon as possible rather than trying the website ordeal again or that September would start to book out.
My Visa credit card worked on the site and i have a receipt to print out and some point.
I am wondering whether re-confirmation is needed though?

3Common complaint few have competed the purchase online... If you have gotten a reservation # you're doing better than most...
There is a lot of "confirming' and "reconfirming" for the train and the tickets...so hand over your documents to anyone who looks like they understand this ASAP...perhaps they'll give you your next needed "print out"...lol...
At the airport in Cusco you will have the opportunity to buy the MP tickets and the bus ride up the zigzag road...perhaps do it there... There are supposedly payment places in Cusco but I've never used them...
If you are going on an "off day" there are MP tickets available in Aguas Caliente at the Ministry of Culture on the small Plaza de Armas (Main Square) to the right of the church...
But of course you risk being closed out if the 2500 ticket quota is sold out... The web site does show the number of tickets still available for any given day...that would be a good place to start...holidays do sell out...but the day after can be wide open... summer is high season if you go then... The bus up is run as needed there are lots of buses...and if not you can always just walk down to AC...its not too far...and downhill!
But I'd rather be stranded in Cusco than in AC... Someone here indicated that the site responds better in Spanish...? FYI...?
