Accommodation in Austin, TexasHey there
I am travelling to Austin, Texas, in early to mid june for about a week and I am after somewhere cool to stay. Ideally somewhere convenient, not too far away from downtown or south congress? Im not really wanting to stay at the boring, traditional hotels like Hilton et al, but nothing over priced either.
Im happy to take all sorts of recommendations. Something cool and fun, (quiet to) and a bonus would be somewhere where you could meet other as well. That isnt a prioirty however

3Clarion $90 single. nice. fridge. cable.
Taxi drivers in Austin are good folks.
People there talk to you, like they've known you forever.
Eat at Armadillo World Hq. Study the photos in the main dining room.
Charlie Daniels said, most venus give playing musicians a meal. AWHq fills the bus with enough, to get you to your next gig.
Many stories. Legendary place. Enough food to take another one home.

4I'm a big fan of the AT&T Conference Center on the UT campus when I'm staying in town, but that may be out of your price range. It's got very nice rooms, great internet and it's conveniently located (if the campus area is your thing), but it's not really a place to meet people. For a less expensive option, there's the Radisson at the corner of Congress and Cesar Chavez which is right in the middle of everything.
