Short trip to Northern Vietnam (Sapa, Bac Ha)Hello,
I'm planning the trip I'll make with my friend this summer to Vietnam and I'm trying to make a plan for visiting both Sapa and Bac Ha. According to the LP guide, is relatively possible to make a 3 days (5 nights) travel from Hanoi to Sapa, then to Bac Ha, and then again to Hanoi.
But if I see some other forums it seems quite difficult to accomplish this in a reasonable price and time without a tour. Do you have some experience in this, travelling independently?
thanks a lot

2With your time, you must have 2 nights in a bus or train, 3 other nights: 2 in Sapa and 1 in Bac Ha I think it's a little rush, but done-able. what's your budget on this? are you a well travelers? A tour agent is an easy option. But as a well travelers, you can arrange everything your own.
Hope this help!

Yes, my idea now is:
thursday night, Hanoi - Sapa (train + bus)
Friday and saturday nights Sapa: visit nearby villages...
Sunday early morning, go to Bac Ha, visit market. Maybe stay there or back in the night to Lao Cai and there take the train to Hanoi this night.
I have some experience managing crazy travels on my own, so it's not a problem for me to make it. I have made by public transportation most of my travels worldwide. But for that it's a must that there's public tranportation.
