Five days in Nicaragua, where to go?I have some time off of work and found a super cheap ticket into Managua next week. Flight lands at 1:00 pm and from then have four days to hang. Looking to surf and hang on the beach but would rather not be in an over crowded place like SJDS sounds to be like. Any recommendations for a chill little surf town that's easy to get to and not super touristy?

2Las Penitas and Poneloya (a short bus ride from Leon). Las Penitas is a small fishing village with a few hostels/hotels, restaurants and bars.
You could also go to Jiquilillo (bus from Leon to Chinandega, change bus stations, bus to Jiquilillo). Definitely more off the beaten track. Also a small fishing village, nice deserted beaches. We stayed at Rancho Tranquilo, there are not many restaurants or bars around (if any) but Rancho Tranquilo has a restuarant and a beach bar which was a lot of fun. $20-25 a day per person for lodging and 3 meals. You can rent boards there. Rancho Esperanza seemed good too.

4Just google Rancho Tranquilo Jiquilillo.
I looked at my notes : our private cabin (for two) was $20, I think the dormitory was $8 and there are also cabins you can share for around $10 per person. There is a list of breakfast, lunch and dinner items and they prepare whatever gets the most votes. Breakfast was $2.50-$3.50, lunch and dinner $3.50-$4.50. Food was excellent. But beware : everything +15% tax. Beer was $1.50. I think surfboards were $10 a day. We were there in December.
