Posting trekking gear to ArushaKia Ora
I will be cycling Cairo - Cape Town beginning November 2013. I aim to get a little exercise and do a trek up Kili sometime in early 2014.
As ill be cycling theres not much room to carry my cold weather gear so just wondering if anyone has posted gear to Arusha before? I cant seem to find many places that hire gear?
Gear meaning - down sleeping bag, down jacket, trekking socks, boots, beanies, gloves, icebreaker thermals, poles. I have good quality stuff here in NZ and would like to post it back to NZ once ive finished the trek.

2Hi, forget to send things to TZ, special with post. We sent a parcel with some nozzles, which we let repair in Germany, by DHL Express, it took 3 months, until we got it. A secon one with special screws never surfaced.
We had guests, where the luggage was lost for almost 2 weeks, so they had to buy another gear for Kili. They got everything secondhand in Moshi. And don't believe people with few posts, who give you mail addresses. Almost everytime the owner of the company or one of the staff.

3I think that the best option would be to rent the cold weather clothing in Moshi. Do not have the clothing shipped to TZ since the delivery may be unreliable and Moshi post office is becoming very strict with collecting high duty fees for packages. Similarly, it is not that trustworthy to have the clothing shipped from Moshi to your home after the climb. I hope that you have an amazing journey.

4Your Kili outfitter should be able to help you out with these questions. Check with them to see if you can rent what you need or they can facilitate this for you. They should also have some place to store any gear you want to ship ahead (DSL) too. Just curious.......will you be cycling for charity? If not, would you consider a terrific cycling charity if I send you a PM? Thanks and have a great trip!
