Ferry or bus/ferry/bus from Dumaguete to Cebu cityI am in Dumaguete and would like to go to Cebu city.
the bus/ferry/bus fare is php270 and takes Just over 6 hours. one bus departs at 5.45am
but there are about 8 buses a day.
or would it be better to get a 10pm night ferry from Dumaguete to Cebu takes 7 hours.
on the ferry you get a bed so saves a nights hotel bill.
the ferry cost php320.

2Sounds like a bargain until you see the bunk.
I have not been on the overnight boat from Dumaguete City to Cebu City . But based on my experience on other boats and what you get for P320, I imagine it is the cheapest bunk on the boat with no pillow or sheets. Plus, for me, they are not as long and as wide as I am.

5I have done that overnight ferry, it makes the Superferry steerage class seem relatively luxurious. I guess its a deal but if you don't get a good nights sleep is it really worth it? If you show up in the morning fagged what has been gained? For me I always use a bus now to get between Cebu and Dmgte. I enjoy riding up and down the coast of Cebu too much. Your really missing one of the best road trips in the PI if you don't do that route on a bus.

6I always take the bus on that route, fairly scenic and bus gets you right into the centre of Cebu City. No need to go the bus terminal in Dumaguete, just take a 12 peso vhire from the Market to Sibulan, jump on the fast ferry and there will be a Ceres bus waiting at the Port in Lilo An to take you to Cebu City..
