Prepaid Mobile SIMWe're heading back to the UK in early Oct 2013, travelling about England and Ireland, with a few days in Paris thrown in; This time we want to bring our mobiles.
Buying a Prepaid SIM sounds the go for us, and I'd like the one SIM to cover all countries if that's possible.
Both phones will be unlocked before we go of course, and we'd both prefer Data + Voice and the 3G network where ever possible.
Would we be better buying now before we head off or just visit a phone store in London later ?
I've been looking at Vodafone as their network coverage seems the best, but again what do others think ?

1I don't think you can buy a UK sim before you leave - you will have to do that when you arrive. Vodafone is definitely the best for coverage but is not always the cheapest. There is no such thing as a European sim - if you buy a UK one, you will still get charged extra for use in France and Ireland and it's not cheap - although there are usually deals you can get, but that might be only with a contract. Anyway you'll be advised on that when you buy a sim. However, if you want to use it to call home, you will face high charges for ringing abroad, so a UK sim is really only useful if all you want for is to ring within the UK or to another UK mobile. If you want to do that in France and Ireland, you would be best to buy a French sim and an Irish sim - if you're in those countries for long enough to warrant doing so....

2Thanks bellart1, your advise gratefully received.
Contacting one another when we're apart might be the only voice use, but I note there some excellent android apps out now for finding your way around cities, especially Paris & London.
The coverage maps for Ireland don't appear to be that flash either whatever the provider.
