you "need" some information - it's your lucky day - you got some information below
best way find good hotels in unknown places/cities is go to hotel sites like agoda, trip TripAdvisor, hotels.com etc and read the reviews.
i would suggest a hotel or two at these places but forget it - you may not like it plus it's border line advertising for those hotels
Lumbini to PKR can be done three ways
public bus - 6 hrs ride, dusty, bumpy and full of character. what way to see the country though!!!! (about 300 Rs max)
do it in a style - hire a private transportation - your rule your time. needless to say this would cost bit more (way more actually - we are talking about 4000-5000 Rs easy)
and with that price you could actually take a flight from Lumbini (Bhairahawa) to KTM and KTM to PKR
will burn a day either which way
good luck

Hi

Site rules do allow posters to recommend hotels in response to a request. Budget is an important factor though; bearing in mind that Nepal hotels are still relatively cheap, how much do you want to pay

In the meantime, some suggestions for Kathmandu: Hotel Florid. Nepalaya and Courtyard (in increasing order of coast, each ahs a website).

Enjoy Nepal.

From Lumbini take a local bus to Bhairawa, the nearby town. There you have hourly local busses to Pokhara.

I was in Lumbini last week and we hired a driver (was with my mother.. other wise waaaay too expensive) but he said the Siddhartha hwy was closed (best way from Lumbini to Pokhara). I haven't heard anything else about this so was a bit skeptical, but we were paying him the same either way so I'm not sure why he would go so far out of his way. Just an fyi that you may have to go all the way back to the Chitwan/Pokhara split... which will add a long time to your journey.
