Budget accomodation in Sosua or Cabarete
10-15 years ago there was many options for cheap places to stay in this area but as things change I was wondering if that's still the case and if anyone had some specific info on budget digs?I stayed in a small motel style place (near Cabarete) with a pool for $20US per night. I think it was called Arco Iris. Is it still there and is it still a bargain?

I stayed in the first place I saw when I arrived in Cabarete. It cost US$25 or 30: pretty basic, nothing special, nothing fancy but easy and secure. If you want cute, quaint, reliable hot water or WiFi, on-site bar, restaurant or pool....double that. If you want less, there's a hostel in town.Mark
