kayaking Louisiana

Has anyone been paddling in Louisiana since the BP oil spill in 2010? What are the conditions?

What little reading I've done on the topic indicated that the area now looks clean, the seafood industry is pretty much back and so are the tourists. The damage done to threatened and endangered species may or may not turn out to be irreparable. The fishermen etc., who were suddenly forced to take time off of work may or may not see financial justice.

But the tourists are back, and the 2 Gulf state residents I kinda sort of know have encouraged my family to come.

I'm no expert, but that's the way I heard it.
