Keeping Sliced Meat

How long will sliced meat keep in the fridge? I bought some sliced ham and roast pork and forgot it was still there. I bought them Tuesday of last week - that makes eight days. Do you think it's still safe to use or should I throw them out?
I tried smelling the pork but it's difficult to tell as it has a lemon myrtle smell.

US government food safety web site says 3-5 days.

Ham - forever - OK, at least 10 days.

Roast Pork - 5 days sounds right, although the commercially package stuff says "use within 10 days of opening", with a long (month or more) refrigerated shelf life if unopened.

The girl at the deli sliced the ham and pork fresh. I decided to throw them out. I'm just annoyed at myself for forgetting about the meats, (there was bacon too), all that money down the drain.

If it's not slimy and funny looking I would eat it. Although I do find that deli sliced meats don't last all that long at all.

You have my sympathy Captain, I hate when that happens.

And what happened to the edit function? How will I survive without an edit function??

No. I take it they're good? Are they like Phish? I'm not fond of them.

The place is weird now. It feels weird to me but in a good way. It's good to see people coming back though. Especially my favorites, like you. :)
