Rome-Padang--Phnom Penh-Rome

Hi, I need to make this journey Rome-Padang--Phnom Penh-Rome.
I'd like to get Padang (Indonesia) in short time, then when I will have to come back to Rome, I'd like to make a stop in Phnom Penh for 10 days. I don't like to spend a lot of money for this flight and I need a cheap ticket. Some news please? Thanks

Although I don't live in Italy, I always fly to Indonesia (J'karta) with Qatar Airways from Milano. It's much cheaper than from other European countries and (in many cases) the cheapest option.

An option would be to book the cheapest return flight available to Kuala Lumpur and to book separate Air Asia flights: Kuala Lumpur-Penang (return) and Kuala Lumpur-Phnom Penh (return). You can go from Penang to Phnom Penh with Air Asia in a single day (well, you can make it in February, verify the schedules for your travel dates) but you would need to purchase two different tickets.

@ OP: For arriving comfortably in J'karta (and in case you want to/have to spend the night there), check out thiswebsite. There is also a good hostel close by: the Six Degrees.

In case you get a connecting flight to Padang, notice that there is a free shuttle service between the terminals at J'karta airport. Find links to domestic airlines here.

In Padang (if you are looking for accommodation there), I recommend the Maranatha Homestay, a clean buget hotel.

And I have just checked: Qatar Airways serves the route Phnom Penh - Rome. The hub is always Doha. Doha is a pleasant airport for transit. And if you have to wait for more than 5 hours, you get free meals.

IMHO, transitting in Singapore is not a bad idea.

It was a lapsus, sorry. Where I said Penang in #2, I meant Padang. Therefore my post #2 should read:

An option would be to book the cheapest return flight available to Kuala Lumpur and to book separate Air Asia flights: Kuala Lumpur-_Padang_ (return) and Kuala Lumpur-Phnom Penh (return). You can go from Padang to Phnom Penh with Air Asia in a single day (well, you can make it in February, verify the schedules for your travel dates) but you would need to purchase two different tickets.

As I told you, you'll need to purchase two separate tickets; i.e.: one from Padang to Kuala Lumpur and another one from Kuala Lumpur to Phnom Penh. You have to look for the schedule of each leg separately and you have to purchase each leg separately too. And you should have to decide if you are fine with the transit time between flights because, as you'll have two separate tickets, if you miss your second flight due to a late arrival of your first flight (or a cancelation of your first flight), you should look for an alternative on the spot and it'll be expensive. And don't forget to read Air Asia's rules to see if you need to check-in again in Kuala Lumpur, what's the closing time of the boarding gates...
