Bank with no 150 Baht charge?

Which bank is it that doesn't charge the 150B for ATMs?

There will be an Big C, Tesco-Lotus or Central store in Chiangmai. At least one will have an AEON ATM.

If your bank, or more likely a credit union, offers commission free travelers checks you can cash them easy at Thai banks and mini bank kiosks. The fee to cash a travelers check is only 33 baht. I have two credit union accounts and always have travelers checks in Thailand, at least until I run out! Beats using a taxi to find an Aeon ATM or paying the 150 baht fee if you don't need too much money quickly. Banks and bank kiosks will ask you difficult questions - such as what hotel are you staying in, room number and ask to see your passport.

If you intend to use a debit card in an ATM you first must tell your bank that you will be in Thailand before you leave home. Maybe best to not rely on a single debit card in case it gets jammed in the ATM. (Or a "guest" you invite into your hotel rooms walks off with your wallet when you take a whiz!)

When you use a bank ATM near the parent bank that bank can open the ATM if your card does not come back out! With most Aeon ATM's you follow directions on how to get your card back!

If you are still in the US there is nothing wrong with bringing some newer "big head" hundred dollar bills with you too! Just make sure they are not dirty or torn. They won't take up too much room in your wallet or money belt but be careful of roommates or guests around you!

Have fun.

It looks like the ATM near the Siam TV shop on the south side of the moat is the most convenient for tourists unless they are heading to the Airport Plaza, unless there is a more convenient one I missed on that list captain?
